This year, the Independence Day falls on Tuesday September 2nd 2014. The Government officers, armed forces and employees ,include Vietnam Immigration Department, will be off in four days. They will work normally on Saturday, September 6th 2014 and take OFF on Monday, September 1st 2014.
People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City has just announced that the armed forces and employees of company and administrative agencies, organizations, businesses and economic facilities have one day off on September 2nd 2014.
The agencies implementing 40-hour working in 5 days will work normally on Saturday September 6th 2014 and take off on Monday, September 1st 2014. Thus, the holiday period includes 4 days from August 30th to end of September 2nd 2014. The units do not perform fixed off schedule on two Saturdays and Sundays every week, based on the programs, specific plans of agencies and units to arrange holiday schedules accordingly.
People’s Committee of Ho Chi Minh City also requires agencies, units, factories, schools, hospitals, units of the armed forces and households hoist the national flag on September 2nd. Earlier, the official Letter No.10525/VPCP-KGVX issued on December 12th 2013 is raised to Mr. Prime Minister, reviewed by the Ministry of Labor.
The People’s Committee has also approved a fireworks display held two points, one at Saigon river and one at Dam Sen Cultural Park, within 15 minutes.
So, the Vietnam Immigration Department will OFF 4 days from August 30th to end of September 2nd 2014.
