Vietnam has announced a new policy to expand its visa-free entry program, allowing citizens from 12 additional European countries to stay for up to 45 days without a visa. This measure, effective from August 15, 2025, to August 14, 2028, is part of the government's ongoing initiative to boost tourism.
The countries now included in the 45-day visa waiver list are:
• Belgium
• Bulgaria
• Croatia
• Czech Republic
• Hungary
• Luxembourg
• Netherlands
• Poland
• Romania
• Slovakia
• Slovenia
• Switzerland
Effective date: This policy applies from August 15, 2025 to August 14, 2028.
Previously, citizens of the Czech Republic, Switzerland, and Poland were only eligible for this waiver if they booked a tour with a licensed Vietnamese operator. This condition has now been removed, providing more flexibility for travelers.

For those wishing to stay longer than 45 days, two legal options are available:
- Travelers can either apply for a 90-day e-visa, which offers single or multiple entries;
You can choose to apply for a 90-day e-Visa at this link https://www.vietnam-immigration.org.vn/apply-visa.html
- Perform a "visa run" by exiting and re-entering the country to receive another 45-day exemption.
